SBIR PHASE 0
Let’s fund Tarrant County innovation.
The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase 0 program at HSC Next assists small businesses in applying for nondilutive federal funding through America's Seed Fund. Whether companies receive federal funding through SBIR or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR), this early-stage funding is instrumental in growing companies with innovative technologies. Given the complex and competitive nature of securing nondilutive federal funding, HSC Next's SBIR Phase 0 assists companies in their pursuit of SBIR/STTR funding through, training, education, and mentoring.
The HSC Next SBIR Phase 0 program began in 2022 and has assisted more than one hundred companies in their pursuit of non-dilutive federal funding to bring new technology to market. To date, the award-nominated program has far exceeded national averages, yielding the following results in only 18 months:
- 410 outreach events
- 112 local small business admitted to the program
- 84 proposals submitted
- 59% woman-owned or minority-owned businesses
- 2x the national funding success rate
